Supplier touting for business when our order is 10 weeks late

Finally on with our much saved for renos, but, they have reached a sad standstill, looks a mess. 8-10 weeks we were told for the glazing - it's been 21! First we were told it was a specialist hinge for the doors they were waiting for, then something to do with the powder coating. Communication has been appalling - well this is what my builder tells me - we ordered via him on trade acc. A month ago we were told it would be on a lorry w/c 11th. Nothing this week, zilch, builder has been chasing since last Fri and can't get in touch with them apparently.

I honestly thought they might have gone bust nope, and very active on Instagram just two days ago!!! Would I be unreasonable to comment where the heck is my order. I also called the number and they answered right away.

Anyone else think this is odd.

Par for the course sadly. Theyre probably prioritising their bigger customers.

Up and running = everything which can go wrong did go wrong and some of which included stuff which we were told could never go wrong.

What did they actually say about the delay when you called?

MrsBruar · 15/08/2025 10:48

@AnSolas well nothing as I hung up 🫣🫣 I didn't want to look like I was getting in between builder and his supplier. Just wanted to see if they were still answering the phone - which they were!

Is it the builder putting a spin on it or is it the supplier

If the latter I would call them and ask where your order is , what has caused the delays etc

Depending on what they say I would be positing the sane q on their instagram mentioning the period you were quoted and how long it has been now

Had the builder been paid for the window order or have you yet to pay them?

If the builder has been paid and paid the money on something strange is going on (most likely on the window company side).

I would be cheeky and show the builder the message and offer to call them using the Purchase order details. The reaction you get will give you a good indication if its a builder problem.

sciaticafanatica · 15/08/2025 17:32

Have you seen the purchase order?
who paid the bill ?

MrsBruar · 15/08/2025 17:55

@AnSolas @sciaticafanatica yes we've seen the invoice direct from the window company, to the builder - we signed off on the detail, the glazing company wanted 75% to go into production which we paid to the builder back in Feb.

Get on their social media then and call them out!
i bloody well would

AnSolas · 15/08/2025 20:00

Then I would be calling the numbre with the builder to find out how you got on the marketing list ( they used your data without permission which is s complaint they say your a customer : then where are your windows. If the builder agrees be "cross" with the builder and as what the window company can do to play hero......
