Is there an underlay that works to stop rugs on carpets slipping?

So it's for a rug on top of carpet, not laminate.
We've had new carpet fitted and I want a rug for a high traffic area.
Our carpet is synthetic and I think it's slippery.
I've had no luck with anything yet.
Any recommendations?

Not used it but I’d go for a tape like this

The Dunelm one doesn't seem to budge. The ikea one was rubbish in this situation.

@NonmagicMike thanks ,I'll consider that .
@Kwamitiki did you use it for a rug on top of carpet ?

I used tape in that scenario. And it works, but if you want to lift to move the rug later you may find the tape adhesive is almost cemented to the carpet fibres.

Yes; a rubber crumb underlay like the 8mm Luxor Carpet Underlay is a good solution for carpet. Its grippy base helps stop rugs sliding on synthetic carpets, even in high-traffic areas. Just cut it slightly smaller than the carpet for best results.

I got a non slip mat for under rugs from IKEA, really works

We bought an underlay from John Lewis. It was expensive but the only one which has worked for us.
