Launceston, Saltash, Ivybridge, Plympton, Plymstock.....how to choose

Hi everyone, I'm looking to relocate to Cornwall or Devon and will be working in Plymouth 3 days a week. I will be relocating with my wife and 2 boys aged 2 and 4. We want somewhere within 30 mins drive of a nice beach/beaches. Im happy to commute 40 mins max by car to Plymouth for work (near Derriford Hospital). I have been looking at the areas mentioned in the title above and all look affordable for us. Any information that anyone has in regards to recommended areas/areas to avoid would be muchly appreciated. We have seen several properties come up on Victoria Road in Saltash for instance, is there a reason for this? Thanks in advance 🤞

If you're working at Derriford, have you thought about Tavistock, Shaugh Prior, Bickleigh etc?

Saltash means the toll crossing twice a day.

Launceston - gateway to Cornwall - strong connections to the A30 but not really much in the town to be fair. Bude is a 30 min drive away with a good beach.
45 mins to Plymouth.

Saltash/Ivybridge/ Plympton and Plymstock are much much closer to Plymouth and there are beaches close by within a 25 min drive.

Totnes is somewhere else to consider - 35/40 min commute to Plymouth and same distance to Torbay.

I would add calstock to your list. I love that place

I would look the other side of Deriford too as it will make your commute more pleasant. Woolwell, belliver, bickleigh, yelverton maybe.
