Just paid off our mortgage. Do we need to apply for title register document?

So we have just paid off our mortgage. Bank say they don’t have title deeds. They also say they have informed land registry that mortgage is paid off and they have no interest in our property.
Do we trust they have done this? Should we be applying online for a copy of the title register which is around £11 ?

Personally I would pay the money and check this. Or ask for their confirmation from the land registry that this has been done. It used to be £3 for a copy of the title register when I worked in property. Inflation!

Congratulations! I would buy the certificate as it would give me pleasure having it.

Congratulations, it's a great feeling isn't it!

It's £7 to buy the title document from the official HM Land Registry website. Don't pay any more than this from unofficial websites! However, it might be a good idea to wait a couple of weeks before paying as it may take HMLR a little while to update the register.
