Can I make a hot tub out of a bath?

DH has various muscle aches and we’re thinking of a hot tub. key criteria are: size (small and square would be best for the space!) and insulation. I understand the rigid ones are the best insulated but cost, and most seem to be for 4+ people. What if we bought a very big double ended bath, had a lot of insulation below/around it, bought a pump/heater separately, made an insulated lid and clad the whole thing in something pretty? Is this “another of my bonkers ideas”?

You want a whirlpool type bath but in the garden with a separate setup?
Why not just replace your bath in the bathroom with a whirlpool bath?

I suppose my starting point was an inflatable hot tub for the fun of being able to use it together after a long day. Then I looked at all the models. Then I started thinking why waste all that space on a big inflatable round one can’t we have an outdoor hot tub that is smaller? But I think you’re right and I’ve ended up inventing… a whirlpool bath.
