Recarpeting a house we are living in

How does it work when all our furniture and belongings are in the house? Do we have to empty room by room, or all at once?
We need the hall, stairs, landing and three bedrooms recarpeted - just trying to clarify the logistics.

Not sure but following as we have a massive PAX wardrobe that doesn’t quite fill a complete wall but is too large to dismantle.

Room by room usually

We've just had our bedroom, living room, hall, stairs and landing carpeted.

We moved all the furniture from those rooms to the dining room and other bedroom the night before.

We won't be doing bedrooms, but rest of our house is desperate. We're thinking of booking two separate fits, so we can move furniture into other half of house, no garage .The alternative would be to move everything I to temporary store for us.

The carpet fitters managed it. Of course they may charge but I’d have to dissemble furniture and I’m not going to be doing that.

We've recently did this, 4 bed townhouse, 2 landings & 2 stairs. We split into 3 groups. 1st - front of house, 2nd - rear of house, 3rd - stairs & landings. We pulled up old carpets ourselves to make It slightly easier time wise, so we pulled up carpets in the rear rooms & then put all furniture from front room on the same floor in that room, then pulled up carpet from front room & the fitter did that first. At night, moved everything into the newly carpeted room, ready for the next day . Chaotic but worked!

@jenthehen we have a PAX too & the fitter just fitted up to it, tbh you'd wouldn't even tell, you'd think it goes all the way under

@Dancingfairydreams thanks so much for telling me this, I’ve been wonder for ages. Might actually get some new carpet fitted now.
