Chrome or brushed brass fixtures in downstairs bathroom?

I’m decorating the downstairs cloakroom and want to paint it all dark - navy perhaps. We live in a hard water area. Would it be silly or have brushed brass towel rail and tap?

Yes. Go for chrome.

I used chrome in my en-suite and brushed gold in my cloakroom toilet, found these on Amazon. Love them as they’re a bit different

Do you live in a hard water area? Love the look. Not sure it’ll last.

No awe sorry we are in Scotland soft water area you would need to check out if these are suitable

Chrome. Any brass finish (other than solid brass kept well polished) always look awful after a few years.

I prefer brass especially with dark colours. I live in a hard water area and I can’t say we’ve had any issues with ours. However, we haven’t gone for a super shiny bright brass look and really like the patina that develops over time with decent brass. If you like a pristine shiny look, brass would be more effort and chrome a lot easier.

I’m in a hard water area with brass. It still looks brand new— fitted 2 years now.

Mine were from Amazon. Can’t remember what I paid but they were not expensive.
my son fits bathrooms and he was surprised at the quality.
still look good after 6 months.

I chose satin brass for downstairs loo - 2 years ago now - hard water area and perfectly happy with my choice

We have brushed brass but put in a water softener at the same time. It looks absolutely perfect several years later
