Leaving an info sheet for viewers?

I am selling for the first time and have an open house this weekend. On one of the viewings I went to for a house, the sellers had left a really useful sheet of all the things you would want to know and the estate agents never seem to on the table.

This would be things like how old the boiler is, who the management company is, the fact that we don't pay water bills, the parking arrangements, broadband speed etc. They also included their position and what they had done to the house which I could do.

I found this really useful but I know this sort of things can divide people. Would you find it useful or weird/ over the top?

Think this is a lovely idea and sure buyers would appreciate it.

We ‘ve sold more than twenty houses here and abroad. We always leave an information pack out with the sort of things you suggest. We only included factual things like service certificates, guarantees on fixtures or roof repairs, not personal details, though.

I don’t see what you have to lose by doing this, it saves time and the interested will find it useful I hope you find a good buyer quickly!

I’m about to start viewing and I would appreciate this.

Out of interest, why did you opt for an “open house”? It’s something I’m weighing up.

Thanks all. @HouseHouseHouse7 an open house is just the term agents use here for a day with all your viewings. They are still scheduled in in 15 minute slots as the house is too small to have lots of people in at once! So I think I have about 10 sets of viewers booked in over a 3 hour period.

It’s really useful to have information about things to do with the house. Our last house, a new build, came with two large volumes of information. The current one has one. The people who bought our last house have said how useful it’s been.

Favourite colour and food are a must!

Feelingstrange2 · 09/05/2025 16:48

Yes definitely.

What a good idea. When we sold our house there were lots of things we mentioned in a pack, but there were still phone calls about how to operate electrical things (watering system)

I did this, and the person who ended up buying my house mentioned how much they loved it .
