I got great advice here when renovating my house so back for more.

I was so tired and broke after renovations that the whole house is just painted in f&b (colour matched) to Wimborne white.

really need to start doing some proper decorating and looking at tailor tack for sitting room and would love an accent colour for a cupboard? Sofas are ikea with Bemz velvet dark red covers. Vibe is battered country house (mostly as my other furniture is from charity shops and auctions!)

Oh sorry, posted too soon! Hit me with your taupe and neutrals and even bold and brash (is F&B ever brash?!) that would go with the Wimborne white I want to stay on ceilings and most woodwork.

stivking with F&B mostly as it’s freely available at my B&Q and independent paint shop and some others are difficult to ship to where I am.

others I have used/looked at/like are: little greene, and like the look of lick and new beata heuman colours.

Little Greene "Rolling fog". Best neutral ever (IMHO!)

I did use a L&G grey in my last house and found it a dream to paint with (I have to do all the painting myself is an extra consideration).

How would you describe rolling fog, is it a proper taupe?

Don’t colour match. Honestly it’s not the same.

The beauty of F&B is it shifts colour through the day. Colour matches are just flat and don’t have the same texture.

Taupe isn’t my domain but once you did the colour just buy the paint. How often do you paint a room after all.

My house is also painted throughout in WW (or à dupe). The previous owner did it, and I continued. In the reception she paired it with Joa’s White.

I'd call it proper taupe. It comes in various depths and is the easiest colour to live with. I have it in my sitting room with turquoise sofas, and in my hall with white- below and above the dado.

It's one of those colours that definitely changes with the light.

And LG paints are fabulous. ( So are Mylands if you want another good brand)

I've just painted my bathroom Wimborne White and Cromarty. There is a floor to ceiling cupboard housing the boiler which will be Bancha by the end of the week.
This weekend I'm painting the hall and stairs Dimity and it will knock up against the WW in the bathroom doorway - I think it'll work but will let you know if it proves a terrible mistake!
I've previously painted a bedroom in Dimity and Oxford Stone. I love Dimity and find it a warm and soothing cream. Against the Oxford Stone it almost looks white, but I'm anticipating it will look taupe against the WW.

Ah that sounds fantastic, adding it to my sample list! Yes LG is gorgeous paint.

Mylands are making the beata Heuman paints! They have replied saying they will ship to where I am, so ordering the colour card.

In all my time on the f&b website I have never thought to look at this grouping - thank you!

@LollyWillow (also love that book - is it the one I’m thinking of that is about witches?)

cromarty and Dimity both lovely. I’ve had quite a lot of treron on furniture and tongue and groove - going to lighten the latter up with pigeon.

also have had powder blue on a cabinet in the scrubbable Matt - didn’t love that finish and it does mark easily.
