Keep looking in Godstone

We’re in the process of looking for a new home. We had seen one, three bedrooms nice new kitchen in Godstone that we really liked, but there has been big problems with sinkholes recently. Obviously the water company is in the process of fixing the holes, but would it put you off buying there in future?

Depends whereabouts , most of Godstone is unaffected.

No, it wouldn’t put me off as it’s one street. I live near Godstone, lovely little place, small and quiet, sleepy village I guess springs to mind. We do a lovely walk around there in our walking group.

It’s a road behind the high street, so quite close. I am worried about future problems as well as potential issues selling in the future. I just wonder if we need to cast our net a little wider and look further away either in Godstone or in one of the other villages close by.

I’m second guessing putting my life savings into something a few hundred yards away from a sink hole.

I’d move my search to Bletchingley, Nutfield or further afield and see what else is available. I always think that if it is making you nervous it will make future buyers nervous too and may affect resale.
