External paint for summer house

We have a summer house that needs painting. It’s currently a god awful orangey-brown colour, seems to be something between stain and paint.

Ideally it would end up light green. Any recommendations for paint please? The house windows are done in Little Greene and DH is refusing to fork out for that.

I’ve always liked the Cuprinol garden shades like this lots of different colours and long lasting finish , very matt. Link below but widely available

Thank you, have you used it? Don’t want to have to do it every year so I’m looking for something known to be good.

I used Protek Royal Exterior on mine. Last painted in 2021 and still looking good. Will probably need another coat next summer.

@SockFluffInTheBath I’ve used it on our shed and planters lasts for years , shed isa pale sage green but I’ve used various other colours

I've used the Cuprinol on a shed. IME, it's more of a stain type finish, you see the grain a lot more. The Protek is gives a denser finish. It depends on what you want.

@BalladOfBarryAndFreda you can get a more opaque finish with the Cuprinol but I agree it would take more coats

We used farrow and ball external eggshell on a garden shed 5 years ago and it still looks as good as new

I have a summerhouse that same brown and painted mine with farrow and ball exterior eggshell, cooking apple green. It looks beautiful and has lasted really well, the last 2 years, looks good as new!
