Property search in London

Just curious to know how long did you all spend searching a house in London? Is it okay to pause and resume the search or should I keep going after 3 months. Though I would want to find something quickly, I am unable to think rationally now.

Why would you need to pause? Surely just keep an eye out. If something suitable comes up then go for it, if not try then keep waiting .

We’ve been looking since last August. We technically have had an offer accepted but we are being messed around so are on the brink of walking away.

It's like practising to pass your driving test. The more you postpone, the more painful and difficult it gets.

Do you have a property to sell?

It took me about two years to find the ‘right’ property.

A lot of that was learning what I could get for my money, flat vs house, change of area etc.

My experience has shown that the longer you wait, the more money you pay.

I’d agree with this. Prices are soaring near me. We’ve been in rented for 3 months (since selling our flat) and I can see us being priced out.

I experienced the same thing, got my offer accepted but was being messed around with and now I gave up on that property.

About three months, but buying a flat, not a house.
