Tado or hive?

Just had the email saying that nest won't be supported by an app come October. Being able to control my heating and hot water remotely and from my phone is basically why I had nest so it means I will probably change to a different brand. I've been offered 50% off Tado but don't want to rule out competitors.

For info, I can't have my thermostat hardwired (older house) so I plug in or would need batteries for Hive? Does Tado plug in or have batteries I wonder.

I also need two because I have two different heating set ups due to extension. So I guess I have to buy two complete sets.

Looks like getting expensive as will hire an electrician to swap them over.

Can't speak about Tado, but i love Hive. No complaints

Our tado doesn’t plug in. It has a wireless thing connected next to our combi boiler. Then we can adjust the temperature using the app or the portable thermostat thing. We love it but I don’t have anything to compare it to.

Out hive is good when it works. When a component disconnects from the group or the WiFi then it's a right nuisance to get back connected again. A quick Google will probably highlight this issue - I don't think it's unusual. I suspect I need to invest in signal boosters, so maybe I should have factored this in to the cost.

Love Hive. We bought it reduced one summer
