Does anyone have any idea how much it would cost to have a triple garage with room above built? Thanks

Surely it's dependent on area, amongst other things.
My brother had a double garage built, nothing on top and I'm sure he mentioned it was like 40k.

Yes ballpark costs with area would be useful

Sounds like you are building a house, planning may have issues with this.

I thought garages could be built under permitted development these days if in the curtilage of an existing property?

It's going to cost about the same as a small house, garages have to have foundations for two stories and a triple garage is a fair area, I assume this is garaging for an existing house. What is the room going to be used for? That could be a problem for planning. Cost, how long is a piece of string, ask a few builders for a price, preferably get some drawings done first for them to base the costing on. So many variables, what are the ground conditions, what sort of finish do you want, type of roof, etc, etc and how expensive is the area which reflects how much builders can charge.

Only if they are single storey

one of my favourite garage planning stories (there are many)

Sorry OP, I can’t help with cost but essentially the cost of a house minus the installation and services - £60-70K maybe

lots of houses are the width of a triple garage - think of a traditional 3 bed semi or an integral garage 4 bed new build - you are basically building a house.

Man who tried to disguise tiny house as a garage finally starts pulling it down

The homeowner - a Mr M Singh - gave in after a long planning row.
