New build after sales - additional work

I’m in a new build, estate is only half built, so all the trades are still on site. Our garden was not done correctly so the developers have finally agreed to get the landscapers in to dig the lot up and start again. A year long battle - glad to finally get to this point.

However, there is some additional work that we were planning to get done, which would be best done during the remedial works. Think terracing. I’m happy to pay for this, but don’t really want to have to get the garden dug up again after the developer/landscaper sort their issues. I was thinking to ask the landscapers if I could pay them to do the extra work at the same time. But wasn’t sure if
a) That’s a reasonable ask.
b) Whether to go through the developer or straight to the landscaper.

Does anyone have any thoughts / experience /advice on this?

Anything done through the developer is likely
to have a % added on for their handling charge.

Its not unreasonable to ask the landscaping contractors directly.
