Are built-in cooker hood any good

We are getting a new kitchen and I'm determined to get a very high extraction rate cooker hood due to my greasy stir frys. A friend recommended Kaiser so I'm looking at their range online. There's a built-in one (kaiser.co.uk/products/avantgarde-pro-built-in-cooker-hood-white ) which seems a lot cheaper than the standard 60cm chimney ones. I'm always a bit skeptical about the built in ones due to their much smaller size and suction surface area. But has anyone actually had experience with built in hoods please esp high suction power ones? Are they as good as chimney ones? Thanks!

It seems very loud, 74 decibels according to the spec. Personally I wouldn’t like cooking in that noise.

Yes. Unfortunately that's the downside of a high extraction hood. My current one is also 60db+ with less than half of that extraction rate

Completely different, but we just got a Bora. You put it in the dishwasher weekly so the filter stays far cleaner than any overhead one I’ve ever used. I’m v impressed.

The most important factor is that it has an external exit. Non of the recirculating type are as effective. In fact in my experience you are wasting money if it doesn't have ducting taking the smells outside of the building.

We have this, which is brilliant. I do agree with @DrySherry on the most important thing being that it's vented outside. There might be similar ones on the market now that are slightly quieter (Novy is making them, I think) but I don't know if the extraction rate is as good

The filters get thrown in the dishwasher periodically. The only downside is reaching it if your ceilings are high.

Thanks all for the comments! Yes we are definitely having it vented out externally. Our current one is vented out too but the 500m3/hr extraction rate is not doing it for us. Nearby cupboards get quite greasy. Will probably go for the angled chimney hoods as they are said to be best for high heat cooking
