Looking for a house in Woodford

We have been househunting in South Woodford in London for 2 years. We have a 3 year old and a newborn right now so decided we need a bigger garden and a driveway too. There’s not much houses available in S. Woodford within our budget (650-700k) so we decided to look nearby which is Woodford Green which we aren’t familiar with. We have seen a 3bedroom house in Brackley Square in Woodford which we really like, just not too sure about the area. We walked down Snake Lane East and found it quite dodgy at 7pm and it’s rather gritty compared to Brackley Square. Would love to know more about Woodford Green in terms of safety, schools, ethnicity, crime, community and obviously more info specifically on Brackley Square, Snake Lane East or that side of Woodford Green.

(we are a mixed race family - Asian/Black who work in the city hence why we need Central line. Family are in Upminster and Cambridge hence why we chose north east London)

Morning! I’m in South Woodford. All I know about Woodford is there’s a nice bit and a not so nice bit. Sorry not that helpful but I think the less nice bit is obvious though.

safety in general I think is fine and I think the area is mixed race I don’t know about schools up there.

Do you definitly need a drive? You may be able to get a small 3 bed in SW for that price in some areas, but it would be small and probs on street parking. I’m not sure where you are living now but SW, Woodford are great areas. The other place you could consider is Chingford albeit not on central x

I'm also in South Woodford (most of my friends are in Wanstead) and I think it's nice, but I can't imagine you'd get a house with a drive for that amount of money in South Woodford. I can't comment on Woodford Green, have only been out that far a couple of times - there's a nice cookery school run from a residential house in Woodford. My friends have said they prefer South Woodford and Wanstead.
