Painting imbecile

Please can anyone recommend a reasonably priced, so not in the Farrow & Ball price range & easy to apply paint to use on interior woodwork? I bought a trade trim paint with acrylic in it & it is horrible to apply. I need simple as I am pretty disastrous at any form of DIY. Thanks in advance :)

Depends on the finish you would like, I’ve had good success DIY with water based gloss from Valspar (b&q). It gives a shinier, more wipeable finish than satin, but not as glossy, or as difficult to work with as oil based gloss.

I'm using crown fastflow satin. It's pretty good so far.
