What on Earth is wrong with my toilet?

To start, I have contacted a plumber who has been to the house before and is very good, waiting for him to come out.

We moved in to a new house in December, noticed toilet 1 was dribbling water at a fairly good rate from the cistern into the bowl. Toilet 2 was leaking from the water inlet bit onto the floor (ground floor). Both toilets fixed. Last week we had our first water bill and it was much higher than expected. Turned off the water to the house, meter stopped going round. Turned water back on and turned individual appliances off and through turning them back on one at a time isolated the cause to toilet 1. With toilet having the water turned off the meter no longer goes round.

Toilet 1 is directly above the kitchen and no signs of water leaking onto this ceiling. Is it possible this much water is going somewhere without spilling into any pet of my house? Trying to prepare myself for his much £££ and work to expect.

The symphony is broken on ours apparently. It runs into the bowl constantly so not a leak but it needs replacing so saving up

What water company are you with? Many will fix this for you for free. We had ours fixed by Severn Trent without charge as they try to meet their leak repair targets

Just to clarify, the water is not run in into the toilet bowl (anymore). We added some food dye and the colour water only ran through when flushed but the toilet is constantly taking on water through the water inlet.

This is what I really hoped! That it is going in and then out somehow via a pipe….and not into my house.
