Moving house with neuro divergent children

Has anyone moved house with neuro divergent children who hate change?
How did they cope with a move?
The move wouldn't involve changing schools.
I'm worried about how they will react and if they will be devastated.
Any insights welcome.

Would social stories help? Lots of pictures and focus on the positive things like what will be better about the new house (ours was detached so no more noisy neighbours) and had a garden big enough for a climbing frame. Also talk about all the things which will be the same like all their furniture and the family. We also painted our son's room the same colour as his old room to help.
