Cost of a pvc porch

Hi,

i was quoted £7.5k for a pvc porch for outside my front door, it’s a pretty small space so was shocked at the price as it cost less to get new windows to my terraced house.

My question is, do you think £7.5k is a reasonable price, will get some more quotes

Thanks

Sounds extortionate. I'd get some quotes for a proper brick porch as well to compare.

Average cost for a porch is £1-2k per square meter.

The porch on the house we are buying is 5 meters by 1 meter (runs along 3/4ths of the front wall), its brick and basically like an extension to the house. Previous owner had it done decades ago so no idea of cost then but in theory I would expect to pay £7.5k if it was to be built the equivalent today (more actually for a full equivalent because we have a double wide RSJ wall opening to enter the house which would cost like an extra £4k+ for engineers, steals, labour etc...).

If I lived in London etc... I would expect it to cost more like £10k+ just for the porch (no RSJs).

So it could be reasonable, depends on plans, size, supplies, location etc...

Hi, thank you, my porch would be all pvc and no brick - but will get another 2-3 quotes so I can see what other costs are, just wasn’t expecting costs to be this high

sorry also 3 metres x 1 metre so not massive

We just paid £3k for 3 new windows and a composite front door on our porch so that doesn't sound too bad for a whole porch!
