Need some help with heating.

My DD has bought a house and we are struggling with the heating. Previous owners have emmigrated and not helpful. There is a thermostat on the wall upstairs which shows room temperature but doesn't seem to turn the heating on or off when you press the buttons, or able to adjust the time setting. So not sure how to set times etc.

As the boiler is set to "I', that should mean ON. If it is turned to the clock icon, you can set the timings by pushing in the pins - not forgetting to set the arrow to the current time.

I think the problem probably lies with the thermostat. It might be a case of turning up the temperature that it is aiming for, as 12.5 is very low, or is there a flap that flips down to give more options?

I agree that that thermostat should be setting the heating but it doesn't seem to be, the heating is not on constantly so something must be controlling it. There is no flame on the display when the heating on, which is confusing me.

That looks like a flap on the thermostat, what does it reveal when lowered? Can you take any clearer photos?

Is that a wireless thermostat, if so have you checked the batteries? Could be an easy fix!

Try setting it to timer and pulling out the little tabs for the hours needed to see if it switches on then ?

Your boiler currently seems to be set to be on all the time, so it's probably turning on and off when triggered by the thermostat.
