Bid says rejected

Hi I'm trying to find out what it means when it says rejected on a house we have bid on. Does that mean we have been rejected?, or Has another applicant been rejected? On the description it says the landlord has looked at the applicant and rejected it. Does that mean us?
I really wish they'd give more information and explain what's actually happened

I would have thought it's your bid that's been rejected. They would not need to tell you if it was someone else's bid.

Bid makes it sound like council house but then why mention a 'landlord'?

I can't imagine why anyone would tell you someone else was rejected though.
