Temporary Making Good - Builders

Hi

My builders say that there was movement to my property in the building work and they've made good to a resulting leak.

However they're also claiming it's a temporary fix and a risk for future leaks until I do further work.

Has anyone come across this regarding making good only being a temporary remedy, rather than reliably fixing it?

I personally think they cocked up (long story) and are trying to evade responsibility when it manifests.

We're at the stage where the work is nearing completion.

Thank you!

On the scant information given, difficult to say.
Temporary fixes are just that. If they were working on something else and noticed something and it wasn’t part of their contracted obligations, then they have done you a favour.
Now you know about it you can address it.

Hi thanks well that's part of my question. They say they have "made good" the result of some wall movement caused by works. But that it's temporary. I would have thought it couldn't be both, is the thing.
