Any thoughts on Newport, Wales?

Hi there - would appreciate anyone thoughts on Newport as a place to live please. Thanks.

I lived there for 8 years before moving in 2021. It was great as a first step onto the housing ladder but I wouldn't have wanted to stay long term unless I was in an area like Allt-yr-yn. The centre is not very nice at all.

I have many happy memories though of DS' early years and am so grateful for the amazing first time buyer schemes which we were able to use.
