What are good streets or streets to avoid in Mill Hill? Please suggest. Is the Mill Hill the area highlighted on google map when I search as the Mill Hill school isn’t included in the area. We don’t currently live here but someone suggested it’s a good area to buy a house. So want to explore before buying. Thank you.

There are Mill Hills in about 14 local authority areas. I can confirm that the one near me has a good fish and chip shop. Can't comment on nearby schools.

How much money do you have? Copthall Drive and Hillside Grove, Parkside and Wise Lane are nice. As is the area known as Poets corner op the park. Millway and the roads off it are nice too. For newer houses the development off Page Street or the development at Mill Hill East op the station where the barracks used to be. There are some good estate agents - Cosway has been in Mill Hill for over 50 years and they would give you good advice. You can tell the good roads by the price of the houses - look at Uphill Road.

I grew up in Mill Hill, still have family there. There aren't really "bad" areas imo. There are less nice parts as with anywhere, nothing I'd consider unsafe. I'd personally not want to live on the border area with Edgware but that's personal preference. Hard to recommend any particular area without an idea of your budget and what size house you're looking for though.

Thank you. Budget is really 700k for 3 beds. Any advice on the streets would be beneficial as I do not currently live here. Thank you.

Around Poets Corner or the road leading down past the cemetery, do you need transport links

MissMoneyFairy · 07/03/2025 15:29

Bunns Lane is well connected, but busy because of it. There are schools nearby; the 221 bus goes down most of it; it's a main route to Mill Hill Broadway station and its car park; it's also a main route to go to Edgware, Burnt Oak or Colindale. Oh and don't forget when the Saracens are playing at home at the Stone X Stadium. From memory it's only a bit mad during school drop off/pick up and rush hour but otherwise it's not like standstill traffic. Not sure if this is still the case though as I never drive through the area during these periods anymore.

Colenso Drive is just off Bunns Lane so you'd get the same traffic to deal with if you are driving anywhere during busy times, just quieter since it's not a through road.

Thank you so much! You’re v kind. We’re first time buyers and I’m very anxious and overwhelmed. Would you have any idea how much the does upper cost? And what signs to look for in a house for signs to not buy like cracks, etc. I saw a property and looks like lot of flooring, wall papers off and other. Still not sure.
