Cardiff based.

We've recently purchased a house and the bathroom needs renovating. Where did you purchase your bathroom items?

Is it best to go to a plumbing merchant and buy from them? If so, any brands that we should be looking out for? Or did you look online?

there's so much choice, I'm feeling really confused.

we've found tiles we like from an online supplier, so that bit is sorted. we've also found a vanity unit online.

Personally I'd stay away from online just because of the speed or willingness to help with damages or incorrect products .
I work at a merchants and would recommend having a look around at displays in showrooms to see the kind of bathroom you'd like .
Decide what's important to you for example a bath or a shower or both if you're lucky ., what type of shower you'd like , electric or thermostatic . You tend to be limited to an 8.5 kw electric shower unless you get your electrics checked , do you want furniture cabinets, free standing or fitted ?
Depending on budget there's a huge choice but there is something for even the smallest pocket .
You could always check with merchants if they have bathroom products that customers have changed their minds on and have been unable to return to suppliers . I know we have a huge amount of bathroom supplies in containers that we've been unable to return that we sell off at cost .
Roca , Hib , Roper Rhodes , lakes bathrooms, Flova and Methven are a few of the good brands with lots of choice .
Hope this helps a little 😁

Just seen you're in Cardiff , there's actually a Plumbase branch there , pop in and get some brochures from them , not sure if they have a showroom but they will be able to advise you .

We've just done our bathroom. We bought from a mixture of places. The bath and shower tray and screen were from a local plumbing merchants. As was the loo. Sink and tap were bought online. We saved ££ by getting the shower valves and bath filler from an Ebay seller. So my advice is shop around!

When we did our ensuite we got the stuff from a few different places. Would recommend Plumbworld, all online but they were very good service and no problems with sending something back.
