I've only ever rented so have no idea when it comes to this. We viewed a shared ownership house through an estate agent and offered on it so started the process. First we had to be approved by The Mortgage People, this took about 3 weeks, we sent all documents etc lots of communication.
They signed off on us and sent basically a 'yes they can afford the house' document to us and to the housing association, Sage. This was 3 weeks ago and we've heard nothing from Sage. I've chased through the estate agent (asked for Sage's details so I can contact directly but EA says she can't give them). EA chased for me and was basically told yep Sage is sorting it.
I just think it's a bit odd that in 3 weeks we've not had any communication at all, not even just a 'we've recieved the sign off and we'll be in touch soon'. Especially since the house is almost finished with a scheduled move in date of May, I'd like to be kept in the loop if I'm potentially moving in under 3 months?
Is this normal, are housing associations just incredibly slow and bad at communication? Communication with TMP was great so feel like it's just ground to a halt now.
