Breakfast bar height and stools?

I'm trying to decide what height to put a breakfast bar at - has anyone got one that's about 110cm off the floor and found suitable stools / happy with it?

We are limited by wanting to prop it up at one end by a cabinet that matches our kitchen. It will be a wall unit either 90cm or 72cm tall plus the plinth and worktop.

The breakfast bar will run along one wall, and on the opposite wall are all the kitchen units, cooker, sink, etc. It's a single wall kitchen with a breakfast bar on the opposite side.

I was going to go for 90cm high (which comes to 110cm including the plinth / feet and worktop) but my family wondered if that would be too high to find a suitable stool / to be useful worktop space. My sister has an island and that's the same height as her worktops.

The breakfast bar would have 2 stools for kids etc to eat breakfast (they're young teens) and also extra surface space for dumping things while cooking. Not a serious food prep surface but just to house extra appliances and bits when needed. I'm only 5'4 so if it's too high that could be annoying. Guess I could also look at lowering the feet and plinth size...

There are two standard heights for “bar stools” - “bar” and “counter”. I have counter height ones for a breakfast bar which is above plinth and normal kitchen cupboard - work perfectly. Bar height would be too tall for us.

Yes as above there are two different height stools available.

Our breakfast bar height is 90cm (I just measured!) and we have counter stools to go with it, which fit just perfect.

When we first moved in we had bar stools as we didn’t have any furniture at all and a relative lent them. They were far too tall. So I think if you are looking at 110cm you would find that bar stools should work.

Thanks, that's very helpful to know! Cheers
