Hi , does anyone have any experience of living in a semi detached Linden home circa 10 years old..

my main concern is noise from next door only because of things I have read online

so I guess I’m asking would you /wouldn’t you …

I bought a Linden Homes Semi in 2020, not quite as old as you're talking but thought i'd chuck an opinion in.

They had the same house as a semi and detached on the estate with the difference in price being £9k extra for the detached. On the specs sheet for the semi it stated that the walls had additional sound insolation to what is required by building regs.

Of the plots available, the detached were North facing gardens and the semi were South facing. We decided to sacrifice being detached and get a semi for a South facing garden.

The separating walls were very thin, the neighbors weren't overly noisy but you could hear TV, Music, doors banging, feet on hard flooring, hoovering etc.

We felt paranoid about the noise we were making, constantly telling the kids to keep it down, not having the radio on too loud and only hoovering at certain times as they had a baby.

Hugely regretted buying the semi and moved in April last year however not specifically due to the noise.

Thank you - always good to hear someone else’s perspective
