It's been a while since I've been a tenant in a rental property so I'm very likely not up with current legislation.

Can anyone briefly explain the costs that tenants could expect to be confronted with before they have even moved in please?

Tia.

You can be asked to pay a maximum of 1 weeks rent as a holding deposit which needs to then be refunded off your first months rent. Nothing else is legal, there’s a whole law called the Tenant Fees Act which outlines permitted payments
