I paid £790 for a level 3 / full structural survey. They homeowner mentioned surveyor was in and out in just over an hour.

Is this reasonable. I thought they would be close to 3 hours, going through things in detail.

I would expect that as well. I’d get in touch and say that you know s/he was done in 70
minutes and how is that enough time to do a thorough survey?

I’ve just seen a post on another thread entitled how long does a survey take - 3 hours for a level 3 survey.
Sorry - don’t know to link it on my phone!

@Freelll we just had a level 2 and he took 2 1/2hrs.

Seems very short - took 2 hours on my house. I suppose it might depend on the house - if you've asked for a level 3 on something quite modern where the level 3 isn't considered neccessary, maybe they can whizz through it?

I think ours took 3-4 hours. So definitely seems very short.

The survey on our house was between 3 and 4 hours.

Our buyer did a survey in our house, albeit presumably level 2 for the price they paid (according to estate agent). The surveyor was in and out within an hour.

I guess they’d say it takes how long it takes to see everything they need to see, but yes, it does make you wonder how thorough they are.
