I've employed a carpenter to do some fitted wardrobes. I've seen many photos of his work which looks good, including photos with him in the shot (so I know it's his work).

He's been over to measure up and has been given the designs.

He was meant to start Monday but didn't show. Said he'd come today but so far no word from him.

I want to sack him and organise something else. What would you do?

Yep, get rid. Tell him you've got someone else as he didn't show as agreed. He's unreliable before he's even started. You dodged a bullet.

I agree except he texted me to tell me he's on his way. If he's already made up the wardrobes and is installing them today, then I might have to suck it up🙄

I know! He's probably making a right hash of it and ruining my carpet. I'll go and check.
