Best place to buy a new bathroom suite?

FTB’ers and the house we’ve just brought desperately needs the bathroom redoing before we move in. Looking for new bath, sink, toilet, shower & tiles etc. No idea where to start or what type of cost we would be looking at?

I see lots of people recommend DIY kitchens for kitchens but is there an equivalent for bathrooms?

Do not touch Victoria Plumbing - horrendous place. No phone line for post-sales issues - you have to contact them via live chat and they pass it to the team. In the end, we had to complain about a broken suite and they just kept closing the complaint. Again and again and again. Gave up in the end.

Victoria Plumbing also said we damaged a unit that we returned - luckily the courier had photos of it dropped off in perfect condition. VP left it outside in the rain at their warehouse and THEY caused the damage. If the courier hadn’t been super-cautious and took photos, we’d have been liable (around £300 so not cheap!)

Also, don’t touch Shower Trays UK. A brand new shower tray cracked and they’ve basically shrugged their shoulders at consumer law and refused to cover the cost - even though they admitted in writing they were liable.

Sorry, I’m not much help! But I have very long and convoluted stories of woe about both VP and Shower Trays UK, PARTICULARLY Shower Trays UK so I’d hate anyone else to get sucked into buying from their shitty companies.

Oh, also, the toilet seat from VP keeps breaking! We’ve given up asking them to replace it. We bought an identical seat from Bathroom Mountain at the same time (different bathroom) and it’s lasted fine. And they were a delight to deal with! Maybe try them?

I did have a good experience with Victoria Plumbing.
Delivery was delayed by 2 days - but that was when there were floods all over the country back in November.
I got stuff from their own brand Arezzo for the shower, shower screen and taps (apparently people really hate it, but I liked them) and other brands as well. I also had no issues contacting their post sales team (via email though) to ask for a replacement part as one small piece of the towel rail had tarnished (I went for brushed brass).
I also used used Better Bathrooms for the bath and the shower tray I got from Wetroom Designs (I went for a shower overlay as I wanted it tiled).
The vanity and basin I got from Tikamoon as I wanted a natural oak look! Had zero problems and overall pretty pleased with the end result.
Someone had recommended Abi Interiors for taps and showers if you are looking for something a bit higher end. Worth taking a look!
Good Luck!

Forgot the tiles! Claybrook Studio! They are absolute lush! I love my tiles!

This is very helpful, they always pop up on my search engine so to see a real review is useful. Sorry to hear you had all these issues!

Agree Victoria Plumbing customer service is rubbish, but their products and prices are good.

I used a mix of VP, Plumbworld, Screwfix.

Get a loo that fits flush (ha) to the wall at the back so you never have to clean behind the loo again. (Called back to the wall.) If your bathroom is small, look for 'short projection' (ie doesn't stick out too far).

Every item you choose, think what it'll be like to clean. Eg free standing baths - will you be able to reach the sides at the back?

When you've chosen things, run them past the fitter to make sure they will fit before you order them.
