Hello All,

Me again. I've found a similar property like the one in my previous post on righmove but this is in a much better condition. Stupid thing is it's STC but I've seen quite a few properties come back to market lately so I'm thinking if that happens to this one I might go for a viewing.
What do you all think ? And the price ? Worth it?

It’s much better than the other one, but for that price I would expect a bathroom upstairs.

Rollercoaster1920 · 31/01/2025 00:19

I find it weird. A bizarre bungalow house hybrid. I want a front door!

Amazing garden though and development potential to make it a large house. Looks like cosmetic updates would modernise a lot for little investment.

Project!!

Jiyty · 31/01/2025 00:25

It's very ugly and such a weird shape/layout

HundredPercentUnsure · 31/01/2025 00:26

Nice sized garden!

Not keen on the downstairs bedroom. Although that said, at least it's near the bathroom.

justasking111 · 31/01/2025 00:32

I'm concerned about the roof, the upstairs ceilings could be hiding an expensive issue.

Chuchoter · 31/01/2025 00:36

That's one of the ugliest houses I've seen.

TheFlyingHorse · 31/01/2025 00:40

I like it and the garden is great. I'd want to try and squeeze a loo in upstairs though. I don't know the area so can't comment on price.

It has potential. I'd want an upstairs bathroom if at all possible but it has good bones and the garden is wonderful. Lots of room to extend and still have a great garden if you'd be up for a project. Ultimately I think it doesn't matter what anyone here thinks. If you like it, if it comes back on the market and if you go to see it and get the feeling then go for it. In the meantime keep looking and good luck.

Thank you everyone for your feedback.
So I quite like a chalet so I'm mainly looking at this style of house. Also, I'm looking for a project so I could make the house into exactly what I envision.
The plan would be to convert the little bedroom on the ground floor to an office, convert bathroom into utility room but maintain a toilet, remove partition between dinning and kitchen and extend outwards.
Upstairs, raise the roof on the lower side to create space for a bathroom, an en-suite to the master and third bedroom at the back.
If you have a look at the street view, you'll see other properties that have had similar work done.
I just need to find the right blank canvass.

I’ve seen better for that price locally (I’m currently looking to buy in Bexley village area). I’ve seen a few in Bexleyheath a lot nicer that don’t need as much work for 450-500k. Haven’t looked in welling to compare but might be worth considering if you’re flexible location wise.

I would be very concerned about the shed/garage in the garden ... Asbestos

mjf981 · 31/01/2025 05:53

That garden could be amazing. Do you have a green thumb?

sashh · 31/01/2025 07:55

I quite like it.

OP I have a friend who moved to a house with a downstairs bathroom but it did have an upstairs loo. After a couple of weeks she was in love with the ground floor bathroom.

She said you generally get undressed in the bathroom and you can then just stick what you have taken off into the wash basket that you don't need to carry up or down stairs.
