Sellers want to complete in June!

We're just about ready to exchange on the house my DP is selling, got all the searches done for the house we're (hopefully) buying. Sellers have had an offer accepted (no chain or mortgage) why on earth would they want 5 months to complete? They've mentioned a holiday but the doesn't seem a reasonable reason for such a delay. We're spending a.fortune renting a house I hate and I just want to moooooove.

Obviously not! Are they even talking to their solicitors? 2 weeks to complete and that's the best you can do!

No way would I wait that long to complete. You want to get it done as soon as possible. Anything could go wrong, mortgage offer could be withdrawn, you could lose your jobs (sorry), and then they would take your deposit too. Very risky for you to wait that long.

Also, and not at the bottom of my reasons not to wait list, DS1 has his GCSEs this year.

June feels too far away if you're ready to exchange. How long is the holiday?!
