Plan for loving or listing in future

We bought our house before having a surprise 2nd child.

It was the perfect size for 2 adults and a child. It needs some work but that didn't bother us as we intended to chip away but with DS being born we aren't sure whether we will love it or list it?

It's a 3 bedroom mid terrace (2 double bedrooms and a box room). We are in a good location. We are looking to stay at least for the next 5 years as the box room will be fine for a wee one and waiting until childcare fees no longer eat up our wages.

I'm thinking of doing the easier/cheaper jobs over the next 5 years like bedrooms, driveway so only thing left is kitchen/bathroom where if we were to sell could get cheaper units etc so it sale ready.

If we decide to stay my plan would be to change layout downstairs, loft conversion etc so would obviously then install exactly what I want kitchen/bathroom wise, meaning changing the layout potential extension etc.

Does this seem like a good plan, or is it stupid decorating the iving room etc to in 5/6years to change it all if we decide to stay? I don't want to be left with a ton of work/decorating all at once if we decide to move.

If you are fairly likely to move then don't renew kitchen and bathroom. Maybe a few tweaks to improve it while you live there.

I wouldn't do any big spending if you're likely to move. Maybe buy portable enhancing items such as trees in pots for the garden art works and furniture.
