We've lived here nearly 11 years.
After we moved in, we had a leak in our bedroom. Whole chimney was repointed (came up on survey), a concrete slab put across the top and the chap said lead had perished, so replaced thinking it'd sort the problem.
Again we had a leak. We needed to have our flat roofs re-done and chap re-did the lining under our tiles in affected area at the same time. Didn't resolve and they came back twice without success.
Had leaks in other places and sadly we ended up with cowboys in to repair all leaks including our bedroom one.
Leaks continued so went down route of a new roof. Used a local chap and his team who have been around a good few years and I knocked on doors of people I'd seen them working for - all great reviews. They do a lot of work for a certain type of business here through recommendation with eachother.
Leak came back, main chap came out, checked the roof and couldn't find anything wrong, so he sent his team to look without him, they filled bits around the chimney which they felt didn't really need doing. No success. Been waiting for them to come back, but he phoned on Monday to say they're breaking off a job on Thursday to undo their work ahead of Storm Eowyn, if they don't find anything they'll put another membrane down and re-do lead flashing.
Can you think of anything we should be asking?
Up until 18 months ago, nextdoor didn't have a problem. We've got recent new neighbours, but don't want to panic them - our problem is apparent as we've had a loft conversion, they haven't so won't have looked too much in roof.
