This is for sale near me. The DC wouldn't even need to change schools. I think it's gorgeous. Sadly, I don't have a spare £1.2M. My existing house would barely be a deposit!

Externally reminds me of the science block at my old school.

I love this house. It was used for some scenes in the Channel 4 series Utopia about 10 years ago which was very dark and did feature a lot of murders. It was a brilliant series and I loved the house since seeing it then

I almost did a double take at this.

It's the spit of my secondary school.

So on that basis, it's a no from me.

Nope, not for me. I would hate all that glass, especially looking out into trees and would constantly be wondering who was lurking around. Especially at night.

I quite like some individual elements though, I am a mid centuries lass myself.

I do quite like it, esp location.

But:
Kitchen might have been okay at the time, when they were places of internal exile, but the size would drive me bonkers now.
What on EARTH does it cost to heat?
A flat roof? Doesn't it rain lots in the UK?

It does rain a lot but flat roof doesn’t actually mean flat. They are laid to fall, for drainage.

I love it, and the “flat” has been explained.

I do think the cost of heating might be an issue but perhaps the windows have been upgraded.

@DrPrunesqualer They are laid to drain and they still leak horribly. They're an awful idea.

Well, yes, to an angle of a few degrees.
Nonetheless, water has a habit of finding every tiny cranny given time, so I prefer to have it off my roof ASAP.
(Though we had a bit of flat roof, and it never leaked, it still gives me the twitch!)

I've been looking at this house for a while now, and my conclusion is that it is the most beautiful house in the world.

I like it. It does look like the home of someone with an implausibly regular job on a C5 drama.

Probably a teaching assistant if it was a series by Harlan Coben

To build this in the 50s and have a 70s vibe is amazing. Way ahead of its time!
