Under stairs loo decor ideas

We have a teeny under stairs cloakroom. Space for a loo and a washbasin and that's about it. We've decided to have funky dark coloured wallpaper, with dark teal woodwork (because it's dark in there anyway so may as well lean into it!) but what about the ceiling? It's sloping as under the stairs so you see quite a bit of it almost on the wall. Should it be white? Or should it be dark like the woodwork? I'm struggling to work out which would look better. Help

Watching with interest for the ideas. I'm doing the same but as can't wallpaper I'll use paint.

I would definitely use the same colour as your woodwork, it'll look fabulous. Feel free to post photo's so I can steal your ideas 😁

My previous occupant decided to go to town on the downstairs toilet, not only making it all out tasteless with a "theme" but actually using unsuitable decorating materials that were not designed for decorating (for example wallpaper that wasn't actually wallpaper). It was some job to get it all out.

I mean if you are staying there for a long time sure, what you do is your business. But if you are considering selling anytime in the future it might be better to do it in something more conventional. Although most people can see past a little awful cosmetic decor, there are others for which it would influence the entire house viewing experience.

Ha! We're planning on staying a few years at least. We're also doing it all properly. Might not be to everyone's taste but it won't be poorly done. I promise 😂

Lean into dark and go dark for the ceiling. Or wallpaper it?
