Kitchen worktop overlays

I’m posting here as I originally posted in the wrong place. I’m planning on updating the old fashioned worktops in my kitchen. I like the idea of the worktop overlays. I see the adverts on Facebook where they just place the overlay over the current worktop. It looks so simple but nothing usually is. Has anyone had this done in their kitchen? Any comments would help. T I A.

I had a quote for this, didn't go ahead as I will be extending the kitchen first. Lots of good reviews out there and I was happy with what I saw so far. Still quite expensive though!

I looked into this. It was about 70% of the cost of a replacing the entire countertop, so I ended up not doing it and just replacing it. Note I'm in australia, not the UK.

I'm had them. Quartz.

The look is good, but I do worry about the relative thickness. I am careful not to drop anything too heavy on them.

I am now a bit worried that the worktops will outlast the rest of the kitchen.

I would say in retrospect they are pretty good, but probably you need to consider them in conjunction with a whole kitchen solution rather than just the worktops.
