Decking finish opinion. Rough?

Just Had deck done by pro outfit. couldn't help notice finish on the vertical boards under the edge board. It’s out of sight unless you get down low as under lip and step is lowish, but still

Already paid and only just noticed. Am i being fussy?

You are being fussy. Those uprights won’t last long anyway as the water gets to them.

I’m really picky but I couldn’t get too worked up about this. Just don’t look at it again!

is that composite? looks a mess to me.
