I’m clueless… Can my washing machine go here?

Having some work done in the kitchen soon and need to move the washing machine. The only place it can now go is in the WC (there is plenty space however I’d prefer for it not to go here).

I’m completely clueless when it comes to DIY or anything to do with plumbing etc.

We are moving the kitchen door 2m along the wall and having additional units installed here.

Is there any way the washing machine could go in this space where the door currently is, inside a unit? If not, could you explain why? Thank you!

I can't see why not, if they can fully plumb one in! There's a radiator right there so surely they can get the water pipes to that area, I'd imagine perhaps plumbing in the waste water / drainage might be tougher if it's a solid floor underneath with no pipes? However I am not a plumber 😂

Hi,

Not an expert but just moved mine - the drain rather than the inlet is what's harder to plumb I think. Not hard hard, but needs accommodating. But - just measure :-) firstly. 60cm wide and 60cm deep

Also think about if you want integrated vs free standing. I didn't want to integrate mine, just inside a cupboard to hide it (as the machine itself smaller if integrated) so it was going to take up more depth for free standing and separate cupboard door.

Personally I wanted more than anything to not have my washing machine in my kitchen so it's gone in the upstairs bathroom - hidden in a cupboard! Only been a couple of weeks and I am SO GLAD

They have washing machines in bathrooms and toilets abroad

Thank you! I’ve seen washing machines in the bathroom in many air bnbs I’ve stayed in in Europe.

I think the reason I’m reluctant to put it in the WC as it’s a great space to keep the pram at the moment, daft I know considering we will only need the pram for another couple years and can keep it in my car!
