Relocating from Leeds to Bangor (Northern Ireland) Area

Hi all - We are hopefully moving back to the Bangor area later in the year when our property sells (following 30 years away). I was after some practical advice around the moving process from England to Northern Ireland:

Buying - the main websites to search seem to be PropertyPal, Property News and some on Zoopla. In England some estate agents don't go on the main equivalent of Rightmove - is this the case in NI? We also have some random online agents - any in NI? Want to avoid missing anything as the choice is maybe not as big as I was expecting on PropertyPal, in Bangor in particular.

Solicitors - have people used the same solicitor for their sale in England and purchase in NI? Our last solicitor has indicated that they can do the sale but not the purchase. Any positive experiences with any based in Bangor area?

Removals - roughly, what have people paid a removal company for England to NI moves (we are going to start getting quotes based on a 3 bed property, but will also look into a van hire with potentially not bringing everything if this is more economic).

Random - anything on the moving front that caught you out or other advice sites you used??

MANY THANKS

It's been a while since I moved but The Dixon Line (based in Belfast) was far cheaper than any of the English removals companies. I had to use an English solicitor to sell and then a local NI one for my purchase. I wouldn't recommend them so can't help there! We sold a few weeks before buying and just stayed with family which helped as there was a bit less pressure if everything didn't line up. Good luck!

We moved from England to NI. Like pp the Dixon line were fantastic. 1000's cheaper than the other quotes we'd got in England. We ended up having to move in with family and they stored our furniture for us at a reasonable cost. I think the packing service was around an extra £500 and well worth it.

We used two different solicitors due to different jurisdictions. It was fine though. We used a solicitor in Belfast who was very very thorough and efficient - Flynn and mcgetrick.

I don't live in Bangor but fairly familiar with the area. I love ballyholme and groomsport.

Just checked my invoice we paid £3100 for 3 bed semi (lots of stuff though) from SE England to NI. That was 4 years ago and doesn't include the storage.
