Front driveway advice needed!

We’re on a corner plot and at the moment the entrance to the drive is straight in front of the bay window.

To me this isn’t ideal as I don’t like people walking past while I’m sat in the front room.

Would you consider moving the entrance onto the corner itself and planting a hedge/screening across that whole section to help with privacy?

There is currently dead space to the right which could be used for parking.

Also keen to hear more about front gardens, plant suggestions for under bay windows and along hedges, plus climbing up the side of the house (Virginia creeper maybe?). I’m looking for something evergreen and low maintenance. It's a south facing drive.

Apologies for the very crude drawing!

Do you mean people walking on the pavement ? Would blinds not be easier . If you move the entrance you’d need to apply to drop the kerb and it’s not always allowed + costs quite a bit . I wouldn’t grow anything on the brickwork as most things eventually become invasive and long term may affect your mortar .

Is there a dropped kerb in front of your parking spaces ?

If so this is the only entry point that you can drive over. You are not supposed to drive over the pavement otherwise I think.

You may be allowed to put a dropped kerb in somewhere else but it will cost and will need permission.

Putting up net curtains would be a lot easier.

As someone who lives on a corner with the front of our house facing south, I understand where you are coming from. As long as you can get permission to change the dropped kerb and are willing to pay for it, it looks like a nice idea.

My only advice is to keep your front door where it is and if you want a hedge, don't use leylandii.

Could you change the driveway to enter from top right hand corner of the property and rework the bottom section( currently driveway) and turn that into a patio and garden?
