looking to get the house on the market late feb / mid March, have plans to rent a storage unit and to get rid of 30/40% of stuff either recycled or stored, new carpet in the living room as that’s not been replaced at all since moving and can be seen on the previous right move listing and all rooms are neat enough imo BUT the garden, tried to do a wild flower border last year down the two sides and didn’t take at all so options are

  1. Do nothing and hope it flowers and looks ok
  2. Dig them out and leave just soil borders
  3. Plant some bedding plants that I can do but they might freeze not in the right conditions etc

we’ve got a shed and home office and will give the patio a good clean but just the lawn & borders.

Ideally would wait to put it on April / May but need to get it on sooner rather than later.

Grass over the “”wild flower” areas. I’ve tried for years to get a wildflower lawn but it never works. Keep it looking neat. That’s all you need.

Option 2

DefyingGravy · 14/01/2025 07:02

option 2 and then in March buy some already-grown or half grown daffs and tulips.

I wouldn't bother with a new carpet either unless it is really completely trashed.

2 I would see a blank canvas for me to make my own.

If you grassed over flower beds I'd see it as a negative, although I might just put some raised beds over the top.

Thanks all, option 2 it is. I’ll work on digging on them out snd freshing it all up.

re. Carpet was pretty trashed with two young kids one having been toilet trained 😂
