Packing and removal costs

Hi all,

Can anyone give me a ballpark for what to expect to pay for a full packing and unpacking removal service in the SE? Two bed terrace moving to 3 bed semi 1.5 miles away. I'm in Herts so expect to pay London prices.

Also - how to choose the moving company?

For my last move I went with the best-priced quote from random companies I found via an online portal but didn't have the best experience. There were a few sudden add-on services I didn't expect, sold to me under pressure on the morning of the move.

££££££ but worth it. We had full packing and removal 15 years ago, I can't remember the cost now but I do remember nearly falling off my chair at the cost.

I’d argue worth every penny, and I’m not someone with pennies to spare.

I'm SW and we've just had quotes over 4k for full packing and moving within the same village.

I've never had packers but removers were incredible. I moved across the city and it was still £700 but I used a local company I used before, I was moved in hours and they put the beds and furniture together.

Be aware that packers pack everything so you'll need to pack the things you need immediately.

I don't find packing too bad as I declutter ruthlessly as I go along.

We recently paid £1200 for a similar move also In herts. If I remember correctly it would have been about £2k had we used the packing service too.

Thanks all! I have been quoted 1.9k inc VAT and all packing, unpacking as well as taking furnitre apart and putting it back together again. Now seems fair.
