Recommend me an area in/near London

We're currently in Elephant and Castle which we love! However; we're getting married imminently and looking to start a family. We love the mix of cultures, easy access to town, generally great amenities, but I think we are going to grow out of our flat fairly soon. Currently we work in the city (me) and soho (him) and love the luxury of walking/cycling to work, though we accept that this will likely have to change to a public transport based commute. I would really appreciate ideas for areas to look at.

Criteria:

  • reasonable commute to the city/soho
  • my family are in south west London, so ideally access to Waterloo/vauxhall/clapham junction/district line
  • three bedrooms, ideally a house rather than a flat
  • would love a garden, and also access to nearby green space
  • budget around £550k, £600k at a push

Thanks for your thoughts!

Tottenham/Blackhorse Road. You might just be able to get a house with your budget, lots of green space, canal, reservoirs. 10min train to the City or 20-25 minute cycle. Victoria Line for West End and Vauxhall.

Thanks! I have to say I have been a bit blinded by my south London roots so probably do need to think north of the river a bit more...
