Warm neutral paint colour to replace (but complement) grey?

We have light coloured carpets that are technically light grey but almost look beige. A warm grey I guess. I'm wanting to paint the walls in a couple of rooms, want to keep them quite light and calming, but not grey.

I dug out an old elephant's breath sample but it was more grey than I remembered (clue in the name I guess!)

Would something like taupe work? Any specific shade names you can recommend?

Our sofa is a light grey so it can't veer too much into brown, but equally trying to move away from grey where possible. Want to use the same colour in our bedroom, which will have beige/sand coloured upholstered headboard.

Although I'm wondering if it's just the fact my sample tester is old now. Googling has elephant's breath closer to the warmer colour I was going for.

Test Egyptian cotton by fluid for a classic greige colour it looks different based on the light

I second Dulux Egyptian Cotton. It's such a good neutral.

Thirded! Just painted my living room this colour and it's lovely

Thanks all that's really helpful, I love the mushroom shade. I really like the Dulux ones mentioned but think they're a little lighter than what I am wanting, I made the mistake of doing skimming stone in our hallway and have wished I went a bit darker ever since.

Our living room is a colour match for Ammonite and I love it.

We've got Zoffany warm white paint in most rooms - it's a brilliant neutral colour, as it can look beige/cream/grey according to whatever colour you've got elsewhere.
https://zoffany.sandersondesigngroup.com/product/paint/cnwawh/ otherwise their white clay colour has a grey undertone.

We have Moon Shot from Valspar - it goes really well with grey

Little Green "Rolling Fog". Comes in various depths. I've used it in several rooms and still love it.

We have Crown taupe in our living room, and I'd say it was more towards a yellowy cream than grey.

Something like this? The company does peel and stick samples so you can order a few and see what works best with your carpet and sofa
