Bespoke policy requested before exchange

Hi all,

Sorry if it's a bit long winded!

So after a very long 6 months we finally got to the stage of agreeing on a completion date. We all agreed on the 16th and were getting ready for exchange when I got an email on Tuesday from my solicitor to say that when the senior was signing off the file he noticed that the garage conversion needed a building regs certificate.
The sellers solicitor immediately got indemnity insurance but it wasn't enough so they got a bespoke policy quote and after a bit of adjusting it was approved by our solicitors.
However, when I emailed my solicitor last night she explained that they were still waiting on confirmation of the policy before they can sign the file off and exchange. Is this because what they were originally provided with was just a quote? And does anyone know how long a bespoke policy takes to set up once the quote has been authorised? I have asked my solicitor but obviously now it's the weekend so left stressing until Monday!
Feeling very stressed as was meant to exchange yesterday and now cannot see the 16th being met at all! Need it all to be over!

Thank you!

It’s difficult but try not to worry, the policy’s can usually go on risk same/next day, probably just ran out of time on Friday. Suggest you email tomorrow at the top of inbox to say need to exchange on Monday can try confirm first thing if that will be an issue. Good luck
